The
wise men decided to find the new ruler and followed the star to
Jerusalem where they went to see King Herod as they believed that
a great ruler would be born in a palace. They asked to see the
child who would be 'King of the Jews' and told Herod they had
come to worship him.
King
Herod was troubled. He was worried that a new King of the Jews
may take away his power to rule in the land. He asked his advisers
where Christ had been born. They told him in Bethlehem. Herod
told the wise men to go and find the child and when they had found
him, to come back and tell him so that he could also go to worship
the child.
