The Star Appears

The wise men from the East, saw a new star shining brightly in the sky. They had been studying the stars and knew that this star had a very special meaning.

Their records made over the years on scrolls, showed that whenever a bright new star appeared it meant that a great ruler had been born.

The Wise Men Arrive

The wise men decided to find the new ruler and followed the star to Jerusalem where they went to see King Herod as they believed that a great ruler would be born in a palace. They asked to see the child who would be 'King of the Jews' and told Herod they had come to worship him.

King Herod was troubled. He was worried that a new King of the Jews may take away his power to rule in the land. He asked his advisers where Christ had been born. They told him in Bethlehem. Herod told the wise men to go and find the child and when they had found him, to come back and tell him so that he could also go to worship the child.
